The Festival Band Salutes America on July 4 at Blossom Music Center

Mon 7/4 @ 8PM

If you’ve got one of those families that likes to go somewhere special on the 4th of July to watch fireworks, Blossom Music Center is ready with its traditional Independence Day concert. The Blossom Festival Band conducted by Loras John Schissel performs its annual “A Salute to America,” loaded with familiar uplifting and patriotic tunes, an Armed Forces salute and rousing Sousa marches.

The evening culminates with fireworks — and of course, the 1812 Overture, written by the Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky. What “Cold War”?

Tickets range from $15-$45 so you can afford to take the whole family, bring a picnic and sit on the lawn where you’ve got the best view of the fireworks anyway.
