Thu 6/2-Sun 6/5
If you’re itching to get out of town and get out into the country now that warm weather’s finally here, and catch a bunch of great indie music by buzz bands and unknowns alike, the Nelsonville Music Festival on the Hocking College Campus in Athens County is back for year 16. It’s a smallish, friendly festival with a more intimate vibe than some of the bigger and better known festivals, and less hassle too.
The festival features four days of music, both electric and acoustic, on multiple stages, along with camping, art vendors, food, a beer garden and kids’ activities. Among the doens of acts performing this year are Courtney Barnett, Gary Clark Jr., Mac DeMarco, Gillian Welch, the Tallest Man on Earth, Diarrhea Planet, Steve Poltz, Randy Newman, Marco Benevento, Fruit Bats, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Lake Street Dive and many many more.
Weekend passes (not including camping) are $155; one-day passes range from $50-$75.
