Activists have all kinds of ways of calling attention to their causes. In 1958, Veterans for Peace came up with one that’s picturesque and engaging: they launched the first Peace Boat, called the Golden Rule, to advocate for ending nuclear testing.
This month’s speaker at Cleveland Peace Action’s Peace at the Pub is Skip Oliver of the Golden Rule Peace Boat Project. He’ll share the history of the project and talk about the boat’s recent trips that he’s been part of.
It takes place at the Market Garden Brewery in Ohio City. Come have some food and beer and learn what these sea-loving activists are doing to promote world peace. It’s free and open to all.
