Sat 12/12 @ 5-8pm
Milwaukee-based photographer/sculptor Sonja Thomsen’s current project, Glowing Wavelengths In Between, creates interactions between the different pieces in the gallery through the use of reflective elements — mirrored surfaces, prisms and the like. It’s been on display in Milwaukee and a couple of galleries in Chicago, where she teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
A version of that show, titled Your White Light, will now be making a stop at the gallery of the Society for Photographic Education on the 4th floor of the ArtCraft Building (go around the back to enter). It will open with a free reception on Sat 12/12 with Thomsen giving an artist talk at 5pm prior to the reception. It will be on display through 3/28/16, Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm.
