Michael Glabicki is the heart and soul of Pittsburgh-based Rusted Root, which broke out in 1995 with the ecstatic single “Send Me on My Way” from its 1994 album When I Woke.
Although the band never had another big hit, its sui generis world/folk/jam rock music acquired a cult following in the jam-band scene, and the band has persisted, through periods of more and less activity and with personnel changing around Glabicki (percussionist/vocalist Liz Berlin and bassist Patrick Norman remain from the When I Woke era).
Glabicki has also pursued a solo career making music that’s more introspective and reflects his personal spirituality more directly and intimately, squeezing gigs in around Rusted Root’s schedule. He’ll be performing at the Kent Stage. Tickets are $15 in advance, $22 at the door.
