So Cleveland-based clothing designer Valerie Mayan no longer has her Yellowcake shop in Gordon Square, doing all her selling now online and at places like the Cleveland Flea. But don’t think for a minute that means that her much-anticipated annual fashion party, Hullabaloo, isn’t going to be happening! Mark Sat 11/7 on your calendar.
To get you psyched for the event, which will feature special guest Mexican-American designer Mondo Guerra (pictured below) who was runner-up in the 8th season of Project Runaway — the same one in which Mayen finished 7th of the 17 contestants — along with some other really cool Cleveland designers and vendors, she’s hosting a preview party on the rooftop deck of the Shoreway Lofts. Enjoy food, drinks, music, Yellowcake shopping, a preview of this year’s collection pieces, a chance to check out what other Cleveland fashion mavens are wearing, and a spectacular view. There’ll even be a team of hair and makeup experts providing free hair, makeup and nails to guests who feel like they need a little extra oomph.
All of this is only $10, and that amount will be applied toward your Hullabaloo ticket if you buy it that evening. And if you can’t make it, never fear — tickets are available online here. They fit every pocketbook, ranging $20 to $150.
