Sat 8/12 @ 8AM
Over three dozen people came out to volunteer on Sat 9/5 and help us pick our red grapes … and we got very close to setting some kind of world record: We picked over a thousand pounds of grapes in less than two hours. We want to send out a huge thanks to everyone who came out to help, or was with us in spirit. The really cool part of the day was seeing some old friends and making new ones.
But if you missed out on the great time, not to worry. We’re doing it again this coming Sat 9/12 at the vineyard, located on E. 66th and Hough Ave. We’ll be picking the white grapes from 8 am until around 11am, and then we’re taking them out to the North Coast Wine Club, 30700 Bainbridge Rd., Solon, to press them into “must” — the juice that wine is made out of. No, we don’t stomp on them, but nevertheless, it’s still a really interesting process to observe.
Volunteers can meet us at the vineyard at 8 am, or the wine club at 11 am, or be there for both. And as usual there will food, fun, and of course, wine. This is our last volunteer opportunity day of the year, so we hope you can make it out. Call Mansfield at 216.469.0124 for additional details.
