If ribs slathered in BBQ sauce spell “summer” to you, then you’ll want to be at Akron’s national Rib, White and Blue festival. What to expect: ribs. And lots of ’em. The “biggest and baddest” rib vendors from across the country will be there vying for cash prizes and bragging rights.
And, of course, with food comes music. Zoso, the Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience, Hollywood Nights, a Tribute to Bob Seger and Fleetwood Mix, a Tribute to Fleetwood Mac will take you back in time. There’s also a magic train and plenty of bouncy activities for the kids. The Akron Symphony Pops and the Freedom Brass Band perform on the 4th along with folksinger Alex Bevan — and of course, there are fireworks.
