Black Music Month Rock & Soul Fest @Rock_Hall With Biz Markie

Sun 6/29 @ noon-4PM

Once again, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates Black Music Month with its 17th annual Rock and Soul Festival, taking place on the stage in its main lobby.

Its headliner is one of the key figures — and most entertaining individuals — of the first wave of hop hop, Biz Markie. Known for his humorous antics, his colorful attire, and his skillful beatboxing, his peak musical era was 1988-1993 when he charted with Just a Friend” in 1989. But he’s probably as well known to true hip hop aficionados for goofball songs like “Make the Music With Your Mouth, Biz” and “Pickin’ Boogers.”

He’s remained in the spotlight as a sort of freelance celebrity. At the Rock Hall, he’ll do a DJ set that’s bound to be fun.

Also performing are West Side Community House’s Summer of Sisterhood, a group of teenager girls, and local rappers Humble G Tha Fiddla, and Crybaby Gangsta.

The concert is free, separate from admission to the Rock Hall exhibits.
