For nearly 20 years, Loganberry Books on Larchmere Boulevard has been hosting its annual Author Alley in one shape or another. This year’s format features two consecutive days that each offers about 35 mostly northeast Ohio authors across a multitude of genres including fiction, poetry, horror, self-help, travel, kids’ books and more. It’s a great opportunity to meet and talk with authors and get them to sign the copy of their book you just bought.
You’ll spot a few local “celebrities” in the bunch such as graphic novelist John “Derf” Backderf and local star chef Dante Bocuzzi on Sunday. But this is an event of discovery: come ready to find out what local authors in your favorite genres are turning out and make a personal connection. Get a full list of authors here.
In addition, the Author Alley Reception starting at 4:30pm on Saturday August 1 will give readers another chance to connect with writers. The Cle-Oh Jazz Trio will start things off with live music 4:30 pm followed by Cleveland sci-fi writer Marie Vibbert leading authors through a round of a Wheel of Fortune-style game at 5:30pm, as they share info about their books and their creative process. There’ll be a chance to network, browse books and enjoy light refreshments.
