VIDEO: George Seremba’s Healing
Theatre and the Poetics of Resistance

Kidnapped, tortured and shot six times, then left for dead, George Seremba’s life as a student activist in Uganda’s Milton Obote regime seemed to be coming to an end. Rain clotted his blood, and he survived to write the acclaimed play, Come Good Rain, performed hundreds of times worldwide.

Seremba begins two years of residency, made possible through a Creative Fusion Award from The Cleveland Foundation, at Case Western Reserve University’s Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities and the Cuyahoga County Public Library, reading, writing and conducting workshops.

Hear him speak on Thu 4/14 at 5PM at CWRU’s Clark Hall #309 (get info here), and listen to him perform an excerpt of his masterwork in this exclusive Cool Cleveland video.
