Tue 12/21 @ 7:30 – 9:30PM
Here’s another winter solstice program to check out: Head to the West Woods on Tue 12/21 to explore the roots of modern civilization on their Winter Solstice Candlelight Walk. Dress warmly! Then head indoors for hot cider & a performance by the Pilgrim Brass Choir.
The scoop:
Dress for the weather and help bring some light into the longest night of the year on this popular evening walk. Explore roots of our modern holiday celebrations derived from ancient traditions associated with the winter solstice. End the evening inside with hot beverages enjoying traditional holiday music by the accomplished Pilgrim Brass Choir. This program will take place primarily outside, so participants are encouraged to dress WARM! Program begins with an introduction. There will be several stops laid out along a walkway. Each stop highlights a different civilization in time and how the winter solstice was culturally observed. Many of the stops are interactive. Program ends indoors with hot cider and music by the Pilgrim Brass Choir (with sing-along opportunities).
