Cleveland Print Room Says Farewell to the Artcraft Building with Member Show and Open House

Sat 3/4 @ 11AM-midnight

The Artcraft Building, once home to a teeming hive of artists and creative small businesses, is almost empty now. More than two years ago it was sold to a developer with plans to turn it into luxury apartments. When that project fell through, the city of Cleveland announced plans late last year to acquire it as the location of its new police headquarters. But by that point, most of the former residents had already moved on.

Among those who’d already been looking for a new location was the photography-based nonprofit gallery/darkroom located on the ground floor. They’re outgrown the space and were looking to own a building, and they located one last year — detail to come.

They’re having one last bash at the old space, with the opening of a members exhibition and an all-day open house, starting at 11am. Come later for the real fun: group show exhibition winners are announced at 6:30pm, The Katy plays at 7pm and DJ Geauga Lake spins at 8pm. There’ll be live visuals by Goo La Goon as well. The event is free and open to all.

The show will be on view through March 18.
