Cleveland Institute of Music Airs Performances “From the Archives”

Northeast Ohio is a hotbed of opportunities to hear world-class classical music, even if you are financially challenged. The Cleveland Institute of Music, for instance, hosts numerous public performances each week, most of them free or lost-cost, featuring faculty (many of them members of the Cleveland Orchestra) and students, some of whom will go on to major music careers.

It’s not surprising then that CIM is offering a way for the community to continue to listen to top-flight classical music. Its “From the Archives” series will reprise past performances by students and faculty including solo, ensemble and opera performances.

Performances will be posted each Mondays and Wednesdays @ 6pm and Fridays @ 12:30pm on Facebook, and each will be available for three days only. Go to the CIM Facebook page for a new schedule posted at the beginning of each week.

This Wed 3/25, a seven-piece string ensemble with perform the first movement of John Adams’ Shaker Loops. On Fri 3/27, cellist Stephen Hawkey and pianist Jane Liu will play Cesar Franck’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in A major.
