After the month-long CAN Triennial, 78th Street Studios doesn’t go to sleep. In fact, this month its Watch It Wednesdays, which took a break in July because of the CAN event, are back, giving visitors are chance to interact with some of the many artists who work in the building, as well as a selection of visiting artists.
The artists set up in the big event space on the ground floor, where they work on projects while chatting with visitors and answering questions about their work and their processes. Learn about painting, sculpture, encaustic, filmmaking and more. Among the 16 August artists are painters Hilary Gent, Eva Wolf, Eric Rippert and Eileen Dorsey, sculptor Charmaine Spencer, stained glass artist Bruce Buchanan, printmaker Rebekah Wilhelm, and nature artist Susie Frazier. Food and drink are available, so it’s a great evening out with friends.
It’s $15 in advance online, $20 at the door, and kids under 14 are free.
