After a summer of polka events outdoors at the SNPJ Slovenian Farm in Kirtland, the dance floor comes indoors for events such as the annual Harvest Polka Ball hosted by the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame in Euclid.
Taking place at the winter home of polka (one of them anyway), the American Croatian Lodge in Eastlake, the event offers an afternoon of dancing to polkas, waltzes and classic ballroom-style tunes played by the accordionist Frank Moravcik and his orchestra featuring button box player Linda Hochevar. The afternoon is hostessed by Sharon Staiduhar.
The lodge offers sandwiches and ethnic eats and of course there’s a bar. The event is free for Polka Hall of Fame members — you can join at the door and get free admission! Call 216-261-FAME for more info.
