The Numbers Band Makes Its Annual Appearance at Akron Art Museum's Downtown @ Dusk

Thu 7/30 @ 6:30-8:30PM

It’s the 42nd season for the Akron Art Museum’s Downtown @ Dusk concert series, which wraps up with the last of its four concerts this Thursday.

This week’s band will be familiar to Downtown @ Dusk attendees, as well audiences all across Northeast Ohio: it’s a tradition that every year, 15-60-75 The Numbers Band returns for one of the evenings. The band, led by founder/guitarist/songwriter/ vocalist Robert Kidney, formed in Kent, Ohio in the summer of 1970, and since then has garnered an international reputation (without playing outside of Ohio much) for their distinctive blend of passionate, off-kilter rock, jazz and blues. The band also includes longtime members Robert’s brother Jack on sax, harmonica, keyboard, guitar and vocals, and Terry Hynde on sax and keyboards; plus bassist Bill Watson and drummer Clint Alguire.

The concert takes place in the museum’s Bud and Susie Rogers Garden, rain or shine. There’s a cash bar outside that only takes credit cards; the museum shop will have drinks and snacks for cash as well.
