Jazz guitarist Lucas Kadish is another of those northeast Ohio kids forged in the crucible of the local music scene, studying and jamming with many of the area’s multitude of outstanding players who mentored and encouraged him.
After graduating from high school, he moved to New York to attended the New School for Jazz on the President’s Scholarship where he expanded his skills as a player and composer and found even more performing opportunities to add to his resume. Still only 21, he’s got his own group called the Tundra 4tet, featuring pianist Theo Walentiny, bassist Nick Dunston, and drummer Connor Parks. They play a wide range of jazz, blues, and freely improvised music.
Kadish is bringing the group back to one of his old stomping grounds, BLU Jazz + in Akron. Admission is $15.
