The Cleveland Orchestra Brings Hollywood to Blossom Through Music

The Cleveland Orchestra goes pops this weekend, for “Hollywood Under the Stars,” two nights of familiar tunes from blockbuster movies. The concerts will focus on the work of prolific, seven-decade Hollywood film composer John Williams, which includes as E.T., Starwars, Superman, and the Harry Potter films, for which he scored music that evokes the drama, pathos and beauty of those movies.

Richard Kaufman, who will conduct the two evenings at Blossom Music Center, is one of the most respected as a film/television-score conductors. He’s the Principal Pops Conductor of the Pacific Symphony on Orange County, California, holds the title of Pops Conductor Laureate with the Dallas Symphony, and has conducted the Chicago Symphony Orchestra series, CSO at the Movies, for 17 years. And of course he’s guested with dozens of other orchestras and worked for Hollywood film companies and numerous pop performers.
