Mandi Cavano and Judie Vegh, the co-owners of the new shop, The Girls’ Joint, which had a soft opening in Gordon Square last month, assure potential clients that this isn’t just another smoke shop.
They describe it as “a femme-forward cannabis lifestyle boutique and creative club … a curated space designed to de-stigmatize cannabis culture, celebrate local art, and host creative community events and workshops for women and femme-identifying folks.” They’ve packed their well-designed space with not only smoke paraphernalia, but also art, books, gift items, jewelry, posters and more, with an eye to appealing to women, although men are, of course, welcome.
On their website, they say, “ The Girls’ Join grew from a simple realization: too many smoke shops around town weren’t being built with us in mind. We saw a need for a space that felt truly welcoming to the very people shaping cannbis culture, in bold, beautiful ways. So we built our own…a little boutique with a big mission to spark connection, creativity, and, okay … maybe geek out a little over cute bongs and rolling papers while we’re at it.”
The Girls’ Joint will host a grand opening weekend Friday November 7 through Sunday November 9, with a big event on Saturday November 8 @ 11am-8pm, with music, giveaways, discounts and game and product first looks.
