Let Off Some Steam with the Whiskey Daredevils and 45 Spider at the Grog Shop

Sat 12/16 @ 10PM

If you’ve spent a long day doing a bunch of Christmas shopping at the many holiday markets and bazaars taking place today, go home, have some dinner and take a nap. Then when you get your second wind head over to the Grog Shop for a late-night show with Cleveland’s Whiskey Daredevils and 45 Spider.

Few bands can get a room rocking like the four-piece Whiskey Daredevils who trace their roots back to country punk rockers the Cowslingers who formed in 1990. They morphed into Whiskey Daredevils in 2003, with vocalist Greg Miller and drummer Leo Walsh along for the whole trip, currently joined by bassist Rebecca “Sugar” Wildman and guitarist Gary Siperko.

Self-dubbed “America’s greatest country punkabilly band,” they crank out their distinctive blend of well-crafted country-inflected ballads and raging, irreverent rockers that often have tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Their impressive pile of albums gives them a huge repertoire from which to draw their always entertaining shows. Colorful garage rockers 45 Spider will also add a dose of devil-may-are high energy fuel to the evening. Admission is $8.
