Touch-a-Truck events at park districts and other venues have become wildly popular and proliferated in the past few years, with little kids (and their parents0 enthralled by giant vehicles.Generally, these events are in the late summer, but Geauga Park District is getting a jump on everyone with its event at The West Woods this weekend, just in time for Ohio MOVES: Transportation Month.
There kids can get up close to tractors, trucks and construction equipment and learn about their functions in running, upgrading and repairing the district’s parks. They can even climb up on some of the vehicles and pretend they’re in charge. It’s free and no registration is required. Just show up.
For more information go to www.geaugaparkdistrict.org. There’ll be a free school bus-style shuttle from the parking lot at ASM International about a half mile from the West Woods in case it’s onsite parking is full – but kids are already familiar with THAT vehicle.
