Cleveland's Mushroomhead Plays Its Annual Halloween Show at the Agora

Sat 11/1 @ 6:30PM

Mushroomhead’s Halloween show at the Agora is a long tradition dating back (?) at least a decade and a half. It’s a natural for the 32-year-old Cleveland band whose dark, macabre visuals — costumes, masks, props and stage sets — strike the spirit of the season. In fact, the masks were an accident: the band members were trying to hide their identities so as not to detract from the “serious” bands they were in in 1993. But their theatricality proved to be as popular with fans as their distinctively hybrid metal-based sound which stirred in industrial, electronic, goth, prog and punk influences, as they introduced new elements to their look over the years as well.

This annual show is always a lengthy evening of hard ‘n’ heavy music, with five openings, including three returning from last year — Psycho Plantation, Bittersweet Revenge and Mind Incision, along with Psychostick and Black Satellite. Understandably, there’s an early start time. Doors open at 5:30; show starts at 6:30. Get tickets here.
