Fri 6/5 @ 5-8PM
Through June 27
The Cleveland Institute of Art’s juried Alumni and Faculty Exhibition isn’t taking place at one of CIA’s on-campus galleries. Instead it’s moved way up Mayfield Road into South. Euclid where it will be the first major outside exhibition to take place at he Museum of American Porcelain Art (MAPA) in the beautiful Telling Mansion which used to house the South Euclid/Lyndhurst branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.
The show features some three dozen artists in a wide range of both two- and three-dimensional mediums. Some of the pieces will be available for purchase, although they will remain on view until the show closes. The show opens with a reception on Friday June 5 where you can meet the artists, enjoy some refreshments, and get a look at one of Cleveland’s lesser-known museums and hidden treasures. Awards will be presented at 6:30pm.
The show will be on view through June 27, when MAPA will be holding a festival market on its grounds, in which some of the CIA artists will be taking part as vendors.
