Curious

Curious

After our impressive run lately, some in the region are curious as to how we keep our momentum going.

If you’re an entrepreneur, you could check out the TechPint talk this week. Artists might be curious about Laila Voss’ unrealized projects, now on display at Busta. Those curious about how our new Convention Center & Global Center for Health Innovation came in ahead of schedule & under budget might want to view our exclusive video interview.

Catch the International Folk Festival at University Circle, join the Bike Cleveland Social, watch Made In Cleveland, bring a blanket to Shaker Square for the free concert series, and RideUNITED to help our social services stay strong.

Curious about how to win? Ask Caroline Tabler, who won $20 just for using our mobile app. And you can win free publicity this week when you tweet or Instagram your favorite event using #CoolCleveland sometime today.

We preview dance at Dobama & interview Deanna Adams about her new novel. Mansfield comments on 137 shots and the Opportunity Corridor and Roldo wonders about Cuyahoga’s new government. Meanwhile, Richey says Cleveland can lead. Survival Kit presents Curious Things, and co-owner Alex Tapie reminds us, “Curiosity keeps us alive.” We couldn’t agree more. –Thomas Mulready

“It doesn’t matter how prolific an artist has been in the real world. Imaginary galleries and sculpture gardens that bloom in the brain will always be more with art than any actual places,” says Douglas Max Utter’s essay for Laila’s new show at William Busta Gallery.

Follow Laila around the gallery at her opening, where some of these projects finally get out of her head and onto the pedestal, as she points out a couple of her favorites. On view through Wed 7/31/13.

Deanna has now branched out into the novel form and the result is Peggy Sue Got Pregnant: A Rock ‘n Roll Love Story, scheduled for release this Wed 6/19
