The number of people who have been inspired to get back to growing their own vegetables the way their grandmothers did is growing. Maybe they tasted a tomato off a neighbor’s vine and their eyes were opened to the taste difference from a supermarket tomato. Maybe they’re more concerned with their health or are among the growing number of vegetarians.

And many are starting to learn how easy it is to do and how little space is required. That’s what The Ohio State Extension’s Master Gardeners of Cuyahoga County intends to show those who attend its From Garden to Table spring seminar at Happy Days Lodge in Cuyahoga Valley.

The seminar will cover such topics as seed saving & sharing, food safety, enhancing pollinators, vegetable gardening in small spaces & containers, soil health, and vegetable gardening with children, all taught by local experts.

The event is $43, which includes a box lunch. There’ll be a silent auction too, for various garden-related items and gift certificates. Register here.
