Fri 1/6 @ 8PM
This week you can partake in several different forms of dancing, including swing dance, which has enjoyed a resurgence in the last decade.
Come on out to Bainbridge Township Town Hall in Geauga County to enjoy an evening of dancing with live music by Rachel Brown & the Beatnik Cowboys out of Lorain County. The skilled Americana band, driven by Brown’s powerfully emotive voice, might have you forgetting to twirl around the dance floor with their appealing mix of heartfelt and catchy originals and arrangements of classic pop, soul and country tunes.
Their performance — and the dancing — begins at 9pm. At 8pm, there’ll be a one-hour lesson to bring beginnings up to speed. The event is family-friendly and no partner is required; this is the type of dance where you switch partners frequently and meet lots of new people.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for youth and $25 for a family. Admission includes the 8:00 p.m. lesson and 9:00 p.m. live performance and dance.
