Artist Nikki Woods Talks About Her Work on View at HEDGE Gallery

Thu 9/2 @ 6-8PM

The work of Cleveland painter Nikki Woods, a Cleveland Institute of Art graduate who is currently the director of CIA’s Reinberger Gallery, is currently on view at 78th Street Studios’ HEDGE Gallery, her second show in the space.

Vivid Wild Things is described as “a series of new, lush and psychologically resonant paintings … that depict subjects ranging from the female form, to ghosts and porcelain tchotchkes.” They feature women, landscapes and “beautiful objects” as their subject matter.

The show runs through this Friday September 3, but if you haven’t had the chance to catch it, consider stopping down on Thursday September 2 when the gallery will be open late (6-8pm) for an artist discussion with Woods and CIA professor Lane Cooper about the work in the show. It’s a perfect time to look at the work with the artist right their to talk about it. It’s free and open to the public.
