Young Classical Pianist Eden Chen Performs as Part of Tri-C Free Series

Sun 11/8 @2-4PM

Pianist Eden Chen, who is in his mid 20s, earned his bachelors and masters degrees at New York’s prestigious Juilliard School, using his education as a springboard to an already illustrious career as a professional musician — and more. He’s a Young Steinway Artists and a Fulbright Specialist, and has performed in major venues in the U.S. and Canada. He’s also working on an album called Memory’s Atlas, featuring music by Maurice Ravel and Ryuichi Sakamoto which, we’re told, “reflects on the awe and ache of memory’s transformations as we revisit the past only through the language and technology we have today.”

That’s not the only thing this ambitious young musician is up to that uses music on a deeper human level. He’s also founder/executive director of the Goldfinch Initiative where he builds healthcare access for performing artists: “a model for how creative and economic structures can sustain one another.”

Chen will be performing at Tri-C’s Metro Campus Auditorium as part of its classical piano series. It’s free. Go HERE to register.
