Cleveland Public Theatre Opens the Door to its Renovated Church Space

Sat 10/10 @ 5-9PM

Sun 10/11 @ 3-6PM

Cleveland Public Theatre’s campus is undergoing a transformation. One of its buildings, the former St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, has been under construction for the past year, and it’s now ready for its closeup, reopening as the Joan Yellen Horvitz Performance Gallery.

This weekend it’s hosting two “soft openings” so supporters can wander around and check out how the building has been changed. They will include performances of The Opening House by CPT’s executive artistic director Raymond Bobgan and Cleveland CORE Ensemble, featuring poetry, song, storytelling and movement throughout the building. And every 20 minutes, they promise, “one audience member will have a one-of-kind opportunity to enter a special journey with the performers.” Light appetizers and beverages will be included in the experience. On October 10, there’ll be a post-show reception and dance party from 8-9pm.

It’s free although a $10 donation is appreciated. Tickets are required; go HERE to get them.
