If you’ve ever imagined learning about how a medium seemingly as unforgiving as glass can be spun into art, Akron Glass Works offers the answer. You may not ever become a Brent Kee Young (Cleveland’s master glass artist) but you can learn techniques to create an array of items.
Inspired by the legendary glass artists Dale Chihuly, Jack Baker opened AGW in 2006. The hot shop provides instruction in glassblowing for anyone 15 and older to try, and work alongside some of the area’s most experienced glass artists. It also includes a gallery and gift shop of one-of-a-kind blown and fused glass items.
