Thirty-two years ago, local musician Adam Rich started his label Love Muffin to distribute his own music, something that wasn’t done as much then as it is now in these Internet-enabled years. His releases were followed by a series of shows called LoveMuffinPalooza which he launched in 2008, and which brought a diverse groups of area musicians together to raise money for charity.

LoveMuffinPalooza 2026 takes place at the Treelawn in the Waterloo Arts District this weekend to raise money for cancer support group the Gathering Place, which offers free services to both cancer patients and their families. The lineup of musicians includes classic cover trio The G Strings, blues/jazz/rockabilly ensemble the Blue Drivers, LoveMuffinPalooza regular Mal SanMarco, Americana band Lost State of Franklin, Flowers Love Being Eerie, and former Pagans guitarist Bill DeGidio. Carrie Danger from 107.3 FM will be emceeing the show.

In addition to music, the event features a huge raffle, with more than 135 items to try for including gift cards from local businesses, artwork by local artists, band performances and special experiences.

All proceeds from both the concert and raffles will go to the Gathering Place. It’s an all-ages show. Admission is just $10 in advance, $12 at the door. For more information, go to lovemuffinmusic.com.
