The woods at dusk become more mysterious and evocative, and what better time to experience this than on the Summer Solstice? The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes is offering the opportunity to join Cleveland Metroparks naturalist Madi Bacci for a leisurely amble down some of their trails on a Summer Equinox Moonlit Walk, absorbing the changes around you as the daylight fades. Bacci will share her knowledge of bats and other nocturnal creatures, and maybe you’ll even spot some. And it won’t be completely dark when you get back: on this longest day, there are still glimmers of light at 9:30!
It’s an all-ages event. Registration is required. It’s free but there’s a suggestion $7 donation — more if you’re feeling generous and want to support the Nature Center’s work. Go here to register.
