Cleveland has its big, well-known church festivals, and then there are the smaller, lesser-known ones. One of the latter is the Greek Festival taking place at the St. Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church in Rocky River.
The three-day festival features all the things people love about church festivals, starting with the food. The festival has full meals in the Taverna and inside in the church hall, a gyro stand, more than a dozen types of pastries, a café with coffee and ice cream, and food available at the drive-through to take home. Dolmades, spanakopita, pastitsio moussaka, souvlaki — you’ll find it all here. Drinks, including beer, wine and mixed drinks, will be available at several locations.
There’s entertainment as well, including live music by Stigma each evening, and three different troupes of Greek dancers, one featuring dancers 6-8, another dancers 9-12, and one dancers 13+, each performing daily.
