Cleveland History Days Culminates with Community Picnic in Canal Park

One of the culminating events of Cleveland History Days (June 18-28) is called Picnic in the Park, taking place at Canal Basin Park along the Cuyahoga River, taking place in conjunction with Cuyahoga County’s tour of the Detroit-Superior (Veterans Memorial) Bridge.

There’ll be food trucks, picnic tables and a beer garden; live local music by Thicarus (11:30am), AJ & the Woods (1:15pm) and Mars Express (3pm); a Touch-a-Truck event at the Canal Basin Park Pump Station; bubble blowing artist Dr. U.R. Awesome from 2-4pm; a Kids America 250 activity tent; other family-friendly activities from various community partners such as Freshwater Institute, Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Cleveland Water and others, where you can learn about water health and history; and a history tent sharing the story of the Ohio & Erie Canal.

And from 2:3-3pm there’s be a “Treat Toast’ on the main stage with free treats to celebrated America 250.
