Tue 4/14 @ 6:45PM
The Dark Room, hosted by Cleveland Public Theatre, is a monthly open mic of a different kind. It’s an opportunity for writers to hear their latest work read/performed by actors, and get feedback on it.
The writing can be a dialogue from a play, an excerpt from a novel, an essay or a poem — up to 10 pages of material. Actors re cast on the spot from whoever shows up. Sign-up for writers and actors is from 6:45-7pm; slots are on a first-come/first-served basis until all are filled. Writers should bring enough copies for the number of actors they need. Readings start at 7:30pm. A donation of $5 at the door is welcome but not required. And there’s free beer! The event takes place in the CPT Cabaret space at 6415 Detroit Avenue.
