Opus 216, which calls itself a “poly-genre” ensemble, was founded by violinist Ariel Clayton Karas in 2012 to expand the boundaries of classical music and its audience, performing music that blended folk, jazz and world music with classical music. Its fluid membership, featuring some of the area’s best classically trained musicians, has performed at a variety of non-traditional locations, taking their music outside the. boundaries of the concert hall as well as outside the boundaries of genre.
This week they’ll perform at the theater space at the back of. Visible Voice Books. There’s a $10 cover at the door.
