Sun 3/15 @ 1-3PM
After Lakeland Community College closed its gallery in 2024, its respected curator Mary Urbas took some of the popular shows she’d established there on the road. That included her annual From WOMAN show, whose 19th edition this year took place in four galleries from Painesville to Youngstown to Lorain to Gordon Square. Each show has a slightly different focus.
The Lorain piece of From WOMAN 19…Art Created by women, of women & about women, currently on view at the Stocker Gallery at Lorain County Community College, is slated to close this Sunday with an artist’s reception from 1-3pm, where you can meet some of the artists, see the work and talk to Mary about how she holds mounts such a challenging show with so many parts.
The artists in the Stocker Gallery show work in figurative art in a variety of media including ceramic sculpture, photography, encaustic, painting, textiles, collage, mixed media and more. They include Leslye Discont Arian, Sandra Aska, Hadley K Conner, Jen Frisco, Higo Gabarron, Tricia Kaman, Karen Jewell-Kett, Judi Krew, Kate Morgan, Whitney Anderson Rooney, Sarah Wisely and Deni Ziganti.
The reception is free and open to all.
