Experimental Musicians and Sound Artists Perform at Waterloo Arts

Sun 1/11 @ 7:30PM

Stephan Haluska is known as one of the key figures in northeast Ohio’s experimental, improvisational music scene. As a music maker, he plays “prepared” harp, altering the sound of his instrument with various devices. Like many musicians in this scene, he’s collaborated with a wide range of other artists. And he’s helped to grow the scene as an education and as managing director of the Cleveland Uncommon Sound Project, which presents concerts by experimental performers, both local and national touring artists.

For an upcoming concert, taking place at the Waterloo Arts Café in North Collinwood, he’ll be doing a collaborative performance with Turkish-American experimental sound artist/pianist Ipek Eginli who uses synthesizer, mixing boards and vocals to expand the range of her electroacoustical performances. She’s toured extensively, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Also appearing will be electronics artist $EGG,000,000 and cello and bass duo ¡Bananaquit! Electronics

Admission is $10 at the door but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
