Wild Winter Lights Transforms Zoo into a Holiday Wonderland

Tue 11/18-Tue 12/30 @ 5-9PM

Once again, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will turn into a fantasyland of lights brightening up the darkness at the time of year with the longest nights and shortest days. (Full disclosure: I’m a daylight savings time fanatic!)

But the zoo’s Wild Winter Lights will uplift spirits and put people in a holiday mood, starting Tuesday November 18. More than 1.5 million lights will be arrayed in a variety of themed scenes, including Magical Storybook, Glittering Galaxy, Frosty Lane, Swan Lake, Colorful Forest and Santa’s North Pole Lodge. You can gape in wonder on foot or in a drive-thru in your vehicle. Strollers can meet Santa at Santa’s Lodge and grab a photo; take a free carousel ride; meet costumed characters; see model train displays; and watch a musical light show with a 50-foot tree. There’ll also be wintery treats available including Jack Frost Donuts, Kernels by Chrissie (popcorn) nad hot chocolate.

Wild Winter Lights will run on select evenings through Tuesday December 30 so you can also plan to go after the all presents are opened and the kids need something to lift their spirits from post-holiday letdown. Get your tickets now.
