Silent Discos have been hanging around for a while, taking place at everywhere from the Grog Shop to the Ingenuity Festival. They involve each dancer donning a set of earphones and dialing in to which of two or more DJ’s music they’d like to hear. It gives Billy Idol’s song “Dancing With Myself” a whole new layer of meaning.
Now Silent Disco is coming back to moCa Cleveland, where almost 500 people turned up for their February event. The theme for this one is Cruise Ship Resort Wear. So sport those bermudas, linen camp shirts and whatever else you wear might on a cruise. Three DJs (DJ Black Unicorn, DJ Flaco Flash and Scene the DJ) will be playing music in different genres so the dance floor might look pretty disjointed to an onlooker. Specialty cocktails will be available for purchase at the bar, and the galleries will be open so you can also check out the current exhibits.
