SHED Projects is a house gallery on Cleveland’s west side that presents experimental, often interactive, projects and installations that are described as “dedicated to fostering investigative activity at the intersection of art, family life, and contemporary urban habitation.”
Its next project is a solo exhibition called Pocket by Evanston, Illinois-based artist Travis Morehead, his second at the gallery. They say that in it Morehead “continues his evolving dialogue with the SHED house, subtly transforming the historic 1857 landmark into an imagining of a musical instrument. Through carefully considered gestures and interventions, he draws out resonances between architecture, body, and sound, creating an immersive installation that invites visitors to listen differently to space itself.”
The show will open on Saturday September 27, with a live performance at 8pm “acting as an invocation for the show and space.” It will be on view through November 8, with gallery hours on Thursdays @ 6-8pm, Fridays @ noon-3pm and Saturdays @ noon-5pm. It’s free and open to the public.
