The Greater Cleveland Aquarium Celebrates Sharks During Fin Fest

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium Celebrates Sharks During Fin Fest

Tue 7/8-Tue 8/5 @ 10AM-5PM

Certain people are so terrified by sharks that if their electric boat was sinking, and they faced being electrocuted by its battery, and there was a shark ten yards from the boat “what I’d do if there was a shark or you get electrocuted, I’ll take electrocution every single time. I’m not getting near the shark.”

And other people are fascinated by these ocean predators and want to more about their lives, their habits, and what makes them ticket. (By the way, a boat’s battery will not electrocute you through the water.) Those latter people can rejoice because this week the Greater Cleveland Aquarium launches its Celebration of Shark & Stingrays Finfest “to build a broader appreciation for the diversity, importance and plight of these elasmobranchs.”

From now through August 5, come on down (dress in any item of shark clothing from socks to a full costume and you’ll be entered to a chance to win a $125 gift shop prize pack), pick up an activity booklet, meet mascot Finn, a “land shark,” feed the stingrays (a shark relative), watch a shark feed Monday, Wednesday and Friday @ 2:30pm. identify sharks and rays at the Discovery Cart and get a prize, take part in an interactive Q&A with the shark scuba team each day at 1:30pm,and engage in many more shark- and ray-related activities

It’s all free with regular admission. Go here for more information.
