Slavic Village’s Neighborhood Pets was founded so that income-challenged put owners didn’t have to make the heartbreaking choice between paying the gas bill or keeping their pet. It offers spaying/neutering, wellness services, basic supplies and pet food. And demands for its services has only grown as inflation has taken a bigger bite out of people’s income.
Once again, it’s hosting its Stuff the Pod event, where you can come during its regular hours on Thursday June 19 through Saturday June 21 to donate any size or brand of dry or canned dog of cat food. Go to the parking lot behind the building (off Sebert Avenue) and a volunteer will help unload your donation. If you bring more than 50 pounds (you’ll really need that volunteer’s help!), you’ll get a free Neighborhood Pets T-shirt.
