The monthly Solidarity Series at the Treelawn on Waterloo Artist District, sponsored by Local 5 of the Musicians Union and Morning Glory Angel, continues this month with another pair of Northeast Ohio musicians: Marc Lee Shannon and Michael Sean McDonald.
Akron guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Marc Lee Shannon is well-known from the nearly 25 years he spent as part of Michael Stanley’s Resonators as well as his side project the Midlife Chryslers. But Shannon also has four albums of his own, three in the last six years since his sobriety, a cause he’s a passionate advocate for. His latest Marc Lee Shannon & My Other Brothers came out last year.
Cleveland’s Michael Sean McDonald is a folksy singer/songwriter/guitar player, whose music incorporates various strands of American roots music and a strong sense of storytelling.
The two performers will share songs and stories about them onstage. The performance is free.
