Cleveland rockers TRUSS have been a band since 2018, but it’s only in the past few years that they’ve been a serious band — very serious, with tons of shows and now a brand-new album, a follow-up to their 2022 debut, and a series of singles is a hard rock band from Cleveland, Ohio with roots in grunge, punk, and alternative metal. Taking influence from bands like Soundgarden, TOOL, Black Sabbath, and Paramore, TRUSS’s energetic performances packed with heavy guitars and melodic vocals breathe new life into modern, honest hard rock.
Formed when the members were students at The Ohio State University, they headed back north to Cleveland when they graduated in December 2019, ready to re-launch — and then came the pandemic. But as things opened up again, the band began to play clubs and support gigs and do some touring.
Fronted by vocalist Hannah Crandall, TRUSS incorporates a variety of heavy rock influences from punk to grunge to classic rock. They’ll celebrate the release of the new eight-song album titled Fluorescence with a show at the Grog Shop. The Rosies and CHERRY! open. Get tickets here.
