This weekend, Cleveland Public Theatre launches part 2 of its annual Test Flight series, which presents productions in various early stages of development — some of which later go on to be fully produced on CPT;s stage.
It kicks off with A Burlesque Play on Modern Dating Struggles by Issa Vybe Productions, produced by Issa Vybe and co-produced by Double D’Lee.
They say that “This production highlights the complexities of modern dating, focusing on issues like narcissism, gaslighting and trauma. The performance will open with disclaimers about sensitive topics, ensuring the audience is prepared for the content. Each performer will share a personal monologue-burlesque piece, beginning in darkness and spotlighting their stories of toxic relationships, such as love bombing. After showcasing their struggles through expressive performance art, the cast will reconvene to share how they’ve overcome these challenges, distributing resources for support and healing.”
Consequently, it’s an 18+ only production. Get tickets here.
