North Union Markets Head Outside for the Season

Sat 4/1 @ 8AM-noon

Sat 4/1 @ 9AM-1PM

When the North Union Farmers Market’s two flagship markets at Shaker Square and Crocker Park leave behind their winter indoor digs and head outdoors on the first Saturday in April, you know that the bountiful produce season is on its way.

It’s not quite time for the summer harvest of tomatoes, peppers, berries and eggplants, but there will be plenty to browse and buy, including greens, storage crops such as potatoes, onions and beets, mushrooms, baked goods, value-added products such as salsa, honey, maple syrup and much much more. You’ll probably find flats of flowers and if there are no starter vegetables and herbs, there will be in a few weeks. The markets herald the coming of warm weather with the traditional shearing of the sheep, divesting them of their winter coats.

The Shaker Market runs every Saturday from 8am-noon through mid December. The Crocker Park market runs Satudays from 9am-1pm also through mid-December.
