DayGloSho Opens With a New Year’s Day Party Marking Waterloo Arts 20th Birthday

Sun 1/1 @ noon-4PM

The DayGloSho, featuring work by area artists made with environmentally friendly paint donated by the Cleveland-based DayGlo paint company, returns to Waterloo Arts this week to celebrate its 10th year.

The annual show launched in 2012 at Doubting Thomas Gallery in Tremont before moving east to install itself at Waterloo Arts in North Collinwood in 2015. To celebrate the 10th anniversary milestone as well as the 20th anniversary of Waterloo Arts, they’ve asked 25 artists to create party-inspired works made with DayGlo paint.

And to kick it off, they’ll be throwing a party on New Year’s Day, an odd time for an art opening (Sunday afternoon?) but appropriate one for this event.  They promise to kick it ,and the year, off with birthday cakes, streamers, party hats, noisemakers, candles and piñatas. The gallery will be black lit and you can pick up special glasses at the door to make the works of art look 3D.

The event is free and open to all.
