Local Music Clubs Join Forces Nationwide for #SaveOurStages Event

Sat 9/19 @ 5-8PM

Save the date! On Saturday September 19, a bunch of Cleveland’s small independent music venues will come together for a “Save Our Stages” event, taking place at the B-Side Lounge in Cleveland Heights’ Coventry Village.

In our region, participating clubs include the Grog Shop, the Beachland, the Foundry, the Agora, Now That’s Class and Mahall’s. You’ll be able to purchase merch from all the venues — something that’s helping them pay their bills and learn more about the Save Our Stages campaign, an initiative of the National Independent Venue Association, founded in the spring to help small clubs survive the pandemic.

It’s lobbying effort to convince Congress to pass the SaveOurStages Act and the ReStart bill to keep these venues, which are hubs and gathering places for their neighborhoods, from having to close permanently. (You can join the effort now, and contact your representatives, through saveourstages.com).

There’ll be music on the patio by John K and Brian Straw. Wear a mask because the clubs don’t want you to die before they can fully open their doors again!
